Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 21, 2026 · Last Updated: March 21, 2026

ThreadLine ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Cooper Interactive. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the ThreadLine mobile application, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored in hashed form). We do not require your real name, phone number, or physical address to use the Service.

1.2 Production Data

You may enter information about film and television productions, including but not limited to:

This data is created by you and stored on our servers to provide the Service. You own your production data.

1.3 Photos and Images

The Service allows you to capture and upload photos of garments, receipts, continuity references, and characters. These images are stored securely in our cloud storage and are accessible only to authorized members of your production team.

1.4 AI Processing Data

When you use Magic Scan or Thread AI features, images and text you submit are sent to third-party AI services (Anthropic's Claude API) for processing. Specifically:

Anthropic's data usage policy states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. We do not share your data with any other AI providers.

1.5 Barcode Lookup Data

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number (UPC/EAN) is sent to a third-party product database (UPCitemdb) to retrieve product information. No personal data is transmitted in this request — only the barcode number.

1.6 Usage Data

We may automatically collect certain information about how you access and use the Service, including:

We do not collect precise location data, browsing history, or contact lists.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your production data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, Inc., which uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located in the United States (us-east-1 region). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).

Photos and images are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls that limit visibility to authorized production team members.

Offline data cached on your device is stored locally using encrypted storage (MMKV on iOS/Android, localStorage on web) and is synced to our servers when connectivity is restored.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your data only with the following third-party services, solely to provide the Service:

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and production data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Production data shared with a team may persist in the team's production workspace until that production is deleted by an authorized team member.

AI processing data (images sent for scanning, text sent for Thread AI) is processed in real-time and not retained by our AI provider beyond the processing session.
